Nestled in a fever tree forest and backed by a rocky hill, Kisima Ngeda is a cozy camp that overlooks the salt-water seasonal Lake Eyasi. Eight palm-roofed, fully equipped tented chalets await guests who can lose themselves in the expansive views of the Alipi escarpment. The changing tones of the day provide a natural tonic for sundowners on tent decks and wholesome food is prepared and served up by local chefs in the palm-thatched communal bar, lounge and dining room.

The main house pays homage to local textures and design with its shady verandas and it features a selection of original photographs from the region and spectacular African art.

The main house features four bedrooms with king-sized beds. An additional four bedrooms are located in the adjacent family cottages, each offering two interconnecting rooms. Katambuga House has a swimming pool to help counter any summer heat and the lodge gardens are the perfect sanctuary for any bird-watching enthusiast.

The lodge is located less than 10 minutes from Arusha airport in a perfect location to serve as a starting point for a North Tanzanian safari.

There is plenty to do around Katambuga House. Coffee production is a primary source of income for Tanzanians and a visit to the Burka estate is a must, or hike and cycle in the Arusha countryside, explore the Arusha National Park – and possibly even climb Mount Meru.

On an Arusha city tour you will experience the vibrant chaos and the juxtaposition between colonial, traditional, and new. Visit the Cultural Heritage Centre for African Art, gemstone centres, or the Shanga Centre for disabled artists, where you will be amazed by glasswork, beadwork, jewellery and handmade clothing.

Olmara is famed for Africa’s magnificent big cats and it is a Serengeti wilderness haven for wildlife photographers. The camp is open to the comings and goings of animals giving a stay here a true feel of being at one with the wilderness. Apart from cheetah, the area teems with lion, leopard, serval and other wildlife, providing visitors with an unsurpassed display of predator and prey activity. 

Solar power provides lighting and electricity for camp operations that all follow eco-friendly practices. The tented suites merge seamlessly into an ancient grove of acacias and offer vistas of endless grassy plains and the Ngare Nanyuki river valley, dotted with time-weathered rocky outcrops. 

The camp is set in a unique expanse of the Serengeti – unspoiled, wild, and remote. With its isolated location, the evenings provide a borderless show of infinite night sky that is dominated by the Milky Way.

Esirai camp moves with the great migratory herds of wildebeest that cross the Serengeti in what is known as Nature’s Greatest Show on Earth. This intimate mobile camp enables you to experience being a part of this 600-kilometre journey as the wildebeest and zebra walk their time-honoured grazing routes from the Southern plains to the North for the Mara River crossing into Kenya. 

The eight mobile tents are 100% environmentally friendly, are lit by solar power and equiped with en-suite bathrooms with hot safari shower. At the heart of the camp is the mess tent, which includes an adjoining library tent (with solar charging station) and an outdoor fire pit. A waiter is on call at any time to serve up the perfect G&T or an ice-cold beer.

Olkeri is the Maasai epithet for the leopard, the spotted ambush hunter, one of the most emblematic inhabitants of the area. This beautiful tract of wilderness is home to large populations of wildlife including great elephant herds and buffalo, and is replete with views of woodlands and rocky hills. Relax and unwind on the expansive varandahs that are shaded by gnarled old-growth Baobab and Acacia, and overlook the active waterhole.

The eight tented suites with wooden floors, en-suite bathrooms and views of seasonal watercourses, are nestled amoungst the trees for privacy. Koroi Forest Camp is tucked in at the base of Mount Meru, a dormant volcano that rises to 4,562 meters, making it the fifth-highest peak in Africa. Those who reach the summit of Meru are met with awe-inspiring, sweeping scenes of Kilimanjaro and the expansive Rift Valley. Named after the Maasai word for the black-and-white colobus monkeys that call the area home, Koroi celebrates the forest.

Deep within the forest below, eight forest chalets and a unique tree house suite, overlook a seasonally flooded forest glade that attracts various forest wildlife.
