Built on raised decking overlooking the Linyanti Marsh, Linyanti Ebony is an intimate tented camp granting panoramic views of its exquisite natural setting. The main area encompasses an expansive lounge and dining area, sparkling plunge pool, cosy fire circle and boma; the perfect place to strengthen family ties on your Chobe safari. The spacious two-bedroom family tent has a self-contained lounge area and private deck looking out over the wetlands plus, a spacious en-suite bathroom that features a shower and roll-top bath. Larger family groups or parties of friends travelling together can reserve Linyanti Ebony exclusively with a minimum of eight people.  

Linyanti Ebony is home to some fantastic wildlife including a healthy population of predators such as lion, wild dog and several more elusive species delighting our guests year-round. Trees represent rooting and connection, which is one of the reasons why our family-friendly camps are named after our favourite African trees. The acacia tree is one of the richest symbols of Africa, its silhouette in the vivid orange and hues of pinks, harmonise with the tranquil sounds of the hornbill in the distance to create truly serene moments to share with loved ones.

Somalisa Acacia is the perfect Hwange safari lodge experience for families with younger children or, for smaller private groups of safari-goers. This family safari camp, located slightly to the west of sister camp Somalisa sits on the edge of a seasonal floodplain in Hwange National Park. Somalisa Acacia is tucked away beneath the dappled shade of an Acacia grove. A place where meeting an elephant in your backyard is not at all a fanciful notion. Access this Hwange safari lodge from Victoria Falls International Airport via a 45-minute light aircraft flight landing at Manga Airstrip with a 30-minute game drive transfer to camp. Somalisa Acacia accommodates a maximum of twelve guests. This intimate camp comprises two family tents with inter-leading walkways between the parents and children’s rooms which are both en-suite, as well as two additional stand-alone canvas guest tents. Each guest tent includes gauze sliding doors to a private deck offering panoramic 180-degree views of the surrounding bush. Situated within a private concession in Mana Pools National Park, Kanga Camp is an utterly untouched wilderness paradise. Adjacent to the remote Kanga Pan, our seasonal Kanga safari lodge offers an unspoiled, authentic Mana Pools safari experience. Aside from the Zambezi River many miles away, Kanga Pan is the sole source of water in the dry season, making this an absolute haven for wildlife. This diverse area has multiple vlei lines and mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse bush and riverine forests. Kanga Camp works well in collaboration with Zambezi Expeditions where you can enjoy the excitement of canoeing as well as catch and release fishing on the Zambezi River.

Solar-powered Kanga Camp comprises of six tents all raised on individual wooden platforms for an elevated view over the Kanga Pan. Each Meru-styled tent is simple yet elegant, boasting floor-to-ceiling mesh windows to let in ample natural light and a light breeze. All tents are replete with fans, en-suite bathroom, flushing toilet, outdoor shower, hot running water and a secluded veranda. Kanga has a family tent which boasts a wraparound terrace facing the pan with private seating and dining areas. The honeymoon tent features a rolltop bath on the adjoining secluded deck, ideal for a romantic starlit bath. Our inviting upper deck lounge under the shade of a mahogany tree is a super place to slip away to for some quiet time. Activities on your Mana Pools safari include guided walking safaris and thrilling game drives led by our qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you.  Keeping step with African Bush Camps’ family-friendly nature, children over the age of 7 are welcome at Kanga. Due to the adventurous nature of this Kanga safari lodge, however, walking safaris are restricted to children over the age of 16 which incidentally, as of 2020, will be the minimum age requirement here. Kanga Camp is only open in the shoulder and dry seasons from April through to the end of November.

Nxai Pan National Park is one of the best places to experience the longest zebra migration that spans from Namibia to the Nxai Pan area covering over 1000km. The migration occurs in the protected land of the Kavango-Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. Migrations are essential for the ecosystems to avoid over-grazing and they ensure food sources are optimally used. Predators also benefit, as they follow the zebras and other herbivores and prey on the weak and younger herd members.  Baines Baobabs is another fascinating attraction here, a cluster of baobabs that have been around for millennia was painted by artist and explorer Thomas Baines on his trek with James Chapman in 1862 across Botswana in search of Victoria Falls. The baobabs were the subject of the iconic painting, which captured the lure and fascination of these unusual trees as well as the beauty and authenticity of this Botswana paradise.

The location of our Linyanti safari lodge in the northern region of Botswana enjoys an abundance of wildlife.
