Enjoy a leisurely cruise in a wooden motorised boat around the first few kilometres of Lake Victoria and the River Nile searching along the shores and small islands for birds, otters and Nile monitor lizards.

Watch the sun as it settles over the shores of Lake Victoria and the River Nile!

The excursion departs from Jinja (close to the main port) and includes transport from Kalagala and 1 complementary beer, soda or water. Starts on Lake Victoria and motor on by the port, through the Source of the Nile and into the River Nile whilst enjoying the sites of the river at this unique location, enjoying birds such as the African Eagle, kingfisher, monitor lizards, snakes, otters and sometimes even some Owls.

Wild and Free on a Horseback Safari

If water-based activities aren’t for you, you can stick to land-based adventures like our horse riding in Uganda. Of course, we recommend you try both! Come and enjoy a leisurely ride on horseback through the villages and farmland framing the River Nile. Horses are known for their gentle natures, adding to the serenity of your escape to Uganda.

There’s something very special about riding a horse along the banks of the ancient River Nile in Uganda. You gain an unrivalled vantage point as you explore the riverine forests and communities that are our neighbours.

This is Adrifts most extreme, exhilarating and exciting package for taking on the mighty River Nile.

Extreme Rafting runs alongside our Full Rafting Packages; jump on board the 2 seater Croc with your very own guide. Your adventure starts just below the Bujagali Dam and entering the river at the renowned high flow ‘Jaws’ as our 1st rapid of the day, the Nile then beckons you further downstream.

This section of the river is pristine, the trees and natural riverine environment creates a beautiful and fast flowing experience, before we prepare you for the first grade 5 rapids of the day. After a short paddle we then have 2 motivating rapids called ‘Pyramid’ and ‘Giggitty Giggitty’. Soon after these introductory rapids you will be ready to conquer the rest the mighty Nile has to offer!

Our first Grade 5 rapid of the day is ‘Overtime’, which is a complex waterfall, with an exciting drop depending on the water levels of the day.

Rafting with Adrift you get so much more safety, fun, enjoyment and service. Our last rapid of the day is ‘Vengeance’ followed by lunch at Adrift Overland Camp.

Our first Grade 5 rapid of the day is ‘Overtime’, which is a complex water fall, with an exciting drop depending on the water levels of the day. Shortly after this you enter ‘Retrospect’, a Grade 4 stopper wave with a roller coaster wave train following.

With a calm section of the river ahead, your group has time to take in the scenery and wildlife on the Nile.

A short paddle later and Bubugo is beckoning and is a Grade 4 rapid offering you another adrenalin pumping experience! Just after Bubugo you have the opportunity to view our new developments at Itanda Falls, Kalagala Falls and Wildwaters Lodge, where we are developing the largest adventure camp on the Nile!

The ultimate 3 hour River Bugging experience on the Nile

River Bugs have been around for over a decade and have gained popularity in New Zealand, Europe, America and now for the first time, Africa! To go ‘River Bugging’, is like no other experience. The Bugs are comfortable, safe and controllable, giving the user a thrill like no other.

When River Bugging on the Nile, we run a unique section of the river, just below Kalagala Falls. This allows us to train our groups in the river, before setting off to conquer some of the larger river features exclusive to this area.

The key features available to the River Bugs are:
Arrow Rapid – Grade 3
Base of Hypoxia – Surfing features
Kingdom Rapid – Grade 2
Crack of Doom – Whirl pools
Vengeance – Grade 4
Novocaine – Surfing features

No experience is required, and you decide your own level of fun!

Our family white water rafting trips let you sit back and relax as our guides take over entertaining your kids! At Adrift we specialise in white water rafting for kids. We’ll ensure that your kids are having the time of their lives, but also make sure they are learning about the river and taking safety seriously.
We tailor each trip to the specific needs of your family – whether you have a family full of adventurers or first-time rafters, we will ensure you have one of the best days ever on the River Nile.

Leap over the source of the Nile from one of the most spectacular bungee jumping sites in the world.

Award-winning 5-star jump crew, by far the most experienced and accredited on the continent. ISO certified equipment and regulated audits for all crew, and maintenance routines. Purpose-built bungee jump constructed and operated to the highest U.S and Canadian standards.

All guests are requested to arrive on site 30 minutes prior to the booked jump time. There is no minimum age limit however there is a minimum weight of 35Kgs and maximum of 110Kgs.
Frequency: Jumps can be organized at most times.

Our grade 3 option offers a milder Nile than our full on gung-ho grade 5 rafting. Many guests use this option to build their experience and confidence before rafting grade 5 on the second day.

This is a fun trip, running alongside Grade 5 rapids, all the thrills but none of the spills.

Enjoy snacks mid stream on the Nile with lunch at Adrift Overland Camp.

You will enter the river just below Kalagala Falls and next to Wildwaters Lodge. Here you will be able to drift next to some of the last conserved riverine forests on the Nile and be able to learn about the river flows, currents, eddies and water features that create some of the most renowned rapids in the world. Just below Wildwaters Lodge you will be able to view the complex and enormously exciting ‘Hypoxia’ rapid. This rapid is almost inaccessible and only from the river can you can see and feel its remarkable power in complete safety.

With a couple of river features to follow, you will then pass by the Buganda Kingdoms sites of cultural and national importance and then drift pleasantly down towards the base of Itanda Falls with your guide paddling you and teaching you about our river operations, safety and how we have guided thousands of people safely on the River Nile for the last 30 years.
