Big changes for 2022 at Big Cave Camp

Posted by Big Cave Camp (Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe)

While the world gradually appears to be returning to some form of normality (and with tourism improving) , we have had a some changes at Big Cave that we would like share with you!

Lin Goodwin retires, and Everard James takes over the reins as lodge manager.

Lin Goodwin after 10 years as lodge manager at  Big Cave, and having done a sterling job,  has decided to retire back to the U.K. to be with her sons and grandchildren! We wish her all the very best in her retirement. Taking over the reins from Lin is Everard James, who joined us mid-December as lodge manager. Everard has spent ten years with Wilderness Safaris as a lodge manager at a couple of well known Wilderness products in Zimbabwe, his last being the beautiful Chikwenya lodge. He is an avid bush lover, and amateur photographer. He has a diploma in both tourism and game lodge management. He grew up in Bulawayo, and attended Rhodes Estate primary school, right here in Matopos. We welcome him on board, and wish him all the very best in his new position!

Channa Geldenhuys takes over both reservations and marketing!

Channa Geldenhuys has taken over as both reservations and marketing manager at Big Cave Safaris. Channa has been involved in marketing for many years, as well as doing a lot of work shooting behind camera herself. She has taken over the reservations position from Nomtha Geca who left us at the beginning of February. She will I am sure inject both efficiency and enthusiasm into her position, and she is a very capable lady. She will also be taking care of all social media aspects of marketing the lodge, as well as attending tourism shows as and when they start to happen again! Welcome Channa!!
