Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve (www.sabisabi.com) within South Africa’s Greater Kruger, has launched the new Amber Villa at its renowned Earth Lodge, one of the region’s most remarkable lodges.

In response to a growing call from families to enjoy staying in one incredible space, the greatly-loved Amber Suite has been transformed into a stunning private Villa, tucked at the edge of the lodge in the heart of the bushveld. One of the largest in the Sabi Sabi collection, the spacious 240m2 villa with two bedrooms and two bathrooms is perfect for families and friends, comfortably accommodating four guests, with a fifth able to be hosted upon request.

The unveiling of the Amber Villa marks the final phase of renovation of the Earth Lodge suites. Drawing inspiration from the lodge’s beautiful luxury suites, Sabi Sabi was delighted to work once again with long-term partners Dakota Designs, to curate each and every detail for a harmonious retreat in nature to reflect and appreciate the bush environment. With carefully considered architecture, the striking design is softened with the use of natural textures, tactile walls, rich woods and a colour palette taken directly from its surrounds, making it near invisible on the landscape.

The inviting living area is designed for complete relaxation, with plump sofas and day beds, bespoke decorative pieces and a fully stocked bar for guests to enjoy their favourite tipple. A timber desk and swivel chair provide a space to work if needed. The daybed in the lounge may be easily converted into an additional single bed, accommodating more family members.

Large windows and doors flood the room with light and encourage free movement out to the terrace lounge. Here, timber fans gently rotate above oversized couches and leather hanging sling chairs for a shaded retreat, allowing guests to soak up the views across the landscape. A shimmering plunge pool is refreshing for guests – and on occasion wildlife.

In the main bedroom suite, with its iconic, original carved Matumi headboard, the bed has been positioned to capture the very best bush views in the utmost comfort. A lounge nook and dressing table sit adjacent to a generous dressing room, which leads to a small, private fitness area with treadmill, light weights and spinning bike.

Flow from the bedroom into the master en-suite, where a luxurious freestanding bath again is also situated to capture unmissable views out across nature. A double shower with walls cladded in earthy hues and copper accents awaits to unwind at the end of an exhilarating game-drive.

Sharing in the same style inspired by the natural setting, the second bedroom with twin beds comfortably accommodates two people and includes a dressing and vanity area, as well as direct access to the outdoor lounge. An adjacent, stylish second bathroom is fitted with an eye-catching quartz floor which provides cool comfort underfoot, while solid Kiaat timber vanities and polished stone basins beautifully contrast against the textured walls.

This home within the Bush is further complemented by the renowned warmth of the staff at family-owned Sabi Sabi and their effortless hospitality. All the facilities of Earth Lodge will be enjoyed by Amber Villa guests, including the expansive main lodge with inviting bar, lounge with shallow pool for dining, a boma for evening meals under the stars and the restorative Amani spa. Enjoy the most sumptuous food daily and discover the award-winning wine collection of South African specialties and lesser known boutique wines, housed in the underground, candle-lit cellar.

Guests staying in the Amber Villa will also enjoy their own private game vehicle, knowledgeable ranger and experienced tracker. This allows for safari adventures to be tailored to their preferences and interests to enjoy lifetime encounters with some of the world’s richest diversity of habitat and wildlife.
