Located on the banks of the Shire River, Mkulumadzi Lodge has 8 stunning chalets where you can relax and fall under the spell of the sights & sounds of the river, in the heart of Majete Wildlife Reserve.

Ngala Beach Lodge is unique in that it offers a view of both sunrise and sunset over the water.

Find us nestled within the vast Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, Malawi’s oldest and largest national park, a protected area managed by African Parks. 

​Surrounded by miombo woodland on the edge of the Bua River, you will find complete escapism and immersion into the African wilderness. As the seasonal river ebbs and flows, crocodiles bask in the sun, fish Eagles soar majestically overhead and elephants roam free.

Mvuu Lodge nestles discreetly on the banks of a lagoon just off the Shire River on the western boundary of the wildlife-rich Liwonde National Park. The main lounge building is set high above the water for long views up-river. Accommodation comprises eight luxurious tents for a maximum of 16 guests, each with en-suite bathroom facilities and a private viewing platform looking out on the lagoon. Lodge facilities include a dining room, pub, lounge area, wildlife library and swimming pool.

Zomba Forest Lodge has been a rest house/lodge for the past 30 years or so but it is now not just a lodge, it is our home. It is not just a business, it is a lifestyle we choose. If you would like to visit us, we will treat you like friends, guests to our house so please do not expect anything too formal!

Set adjacent to the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, Rafiki Safari Camp is a Malawi Safari Lodge from which to have an authentic wilderness experience. Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve in Malawi is something of a birding mecca and this newly revitalised game park is now stocked with some of Africas favourite large species of game, making your wilderness safari holiday complete.

Owner-run Rafiki Safari Camp boasts spacious, en suite Safari Units, each with a private verandah, providing Safari accommodation, as well as, full camping facilities. All accommodation is family friendly. A beautiful Boma to while away the evenings, listening to crickets chirping, night-jars calling and maybe the occasional elephant making itself known. Mumbo Island has never been populated, and is still in its natural state with a thick covering of miombo woodland and ancient fig and baobab trees.

The waters around the island are clean and calm, and allow all guests – irrespective of fitness or experience – to enjoy sea kayaking, snorkeling and SCUBA diving. The island’s only mammals Spotted-necked Otters – are remarkably playful and regularly join guests for a snorkel or swim.

Located high on the Nyika Plateau within Nyika National Park, Chelinda Camp overlooks a crystal-clear dam with panoramic views of rolling hills, isolated ridges and open high-altitude grasslands. Accommodation at Chelinda Camp consists of two options. There are four chalets which have two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge, dining area with a fireplace and a small kitchen. There are also six en-suite rooms with twin beds, which share a dining, bar and lounge area complete with comfortable furnishings and an inviting fireplace for those cosy nights.

Discover the beauty of this island surrounded by crystalline waters, an impressive variety of colourful fish, wide sandy beaches held together by a peaceful and smiling population. 

​Hike around century-old baobabs, in the hills or visit the Saint Peter’s Cathedral in the lively local town. Swim, Paddle, Snorkel, Scuba Dive, Sail, Birdwatch or just have a fresh mango juice on the beach and relax.

​There is something for everybody at Mango Drift!

In a prime location, the lodge is set on the edge of a pristine waterhole that regularly attracts a wide variety of wildlife, including a family of elephants that often frequent the area. Within the reserve boundaries, the lodge is completely unfenced to give guests a unique experience in the natural surroundings. There are six tented chalets available – four twins, and two doubles – that look out onto the waterhole. The common areas consist of a central dining and restaurant lapa as well as a birding platform.

Thawale is a family-friendly property and a very accessible safari stop. For families, a purpose-built chalet is available, which includes two en-suite bedrooms, a lounge, and veranda. The lodge does not accommodate children 3 and under.

It’s best to explore Majete by vehicle or boat – both activities are on offer to Thawale guests. One can expect to have strong wildlife viewing, especially elephant sightings. In the summer months, the birding is excellent.

Exclusive Tongole comprises five, open-fronted river view suites.

The central relaxation areas feature several secluded and elevated areas where guests find privacy and enjoy drinks with stunning river views and sunsets over the mountains. They can relax by the shaded pool deck on comfy loungers, share experiences and make new friends around the fire core, under the African star-studded canopy.

Tongole is accessible by air from April – November in the dry season. The airstrip, managed by African Parks is located just 3km from the Lodge. Flying time from Lilongwe is approx. 30 min and charters are bookable direct with Ulendo Safaris.

Road transfers from Lilongwe takes up to three and a half hours to Tongole and about five hours using the shore road from Blantyre. Transfers can be assisted with at the time of making a reservation and are bookable via Land & Lake Safaris.

Sunbird Ku Chawe is Malawi's premier mountain resort and one of the very best places from which to enjoy the splendor of a magnificent scenic country. The hotel sits on the edge of Zomba Plateau, which rises to nearly 2200m, (7000ft), with the highest peaks on the rim forming a saucer shaped bowl. Around this rim are some of the most stunning views in Africa. The resort is a 90 minute drive from Chileka International Airport in Blantyre, and transport can be provided at a nominal fee.

Awaken to the call of the African Fish Eagle for another glorious day at the charming Norman Carr Cottage situated along the sandy beaches on the southern shores of Lake Malawi. This idyllic romantic retreat is right on the beach tucked away under a canopy of large indigenous trees, a perfect hideaway of sun-drenched beaches and turquoise waters.

Mvuu Camp overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River (pronounced Shiree) in Liwonde National Park. The camp is a clever mix of stone and canvas chalets and specially-designed family tents, which total 14 units. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated between two enormous baobabs, and dinners are sometimes held under the stars in a specially constructed boma. A custom-built education and conference centre has facilities for up to 40 delegates or smaller corporate and team building functions.

Blue Zebra Island Lodge is nestled on Nankoma Island, part of the Marelli Archipelago: an unspoiled paradise under the protection of Lake Malawi National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
