A colourfully decorated traditional wooden dhow has been converted into a picturesque beach bar, while the cool surrounds of the massage sala hold the promise of deep relaxation.

The lodge has a range of luxurious thatched accommodation. For families or small groups, the exclusive-use Casa Familia is an ideal option with three ensuite bedrooms, a large deck area and private pool overlooking the beach. Set amidst lush island forest, there are two cosy cabanas, ideal for couples or honeymooners, and the slightly larger 10 casinhas. Cabanas and casinhas all offer private timber decks, rim-flow pools, sun loungers and private salas with irresistible hanging daybeds.

Villa da Praia is our exclusive beach villa – perfect for small and intimate groups of friends or families travelling together.

It consists of three stunning suites on different levels with king size beds, fitted mosquito netting and large bathrooms with gorgeous Charlotte Rhys amenities.  Two suites have their own private patio and the third, a manicured garden terrace and separate entrance. Each suite is unique and spacious, with spoils of linen bedding, luxurious cotton bath towels, kikoi gowns and locally designed beach bags for use during your stay. With mesmerizing views of the archipelago, the outdoor showers at the Villa da Praia are a sensational experience.

The complex comprises of four modern apartments, two on the ground floor and two on the upper level, each with stunning sea views. There are also two self-contained chalets, ideal for couples. The chalets are one large round room with a double bed and a single sofa bed, with a separate fully fitted kitchen and shower/toilet.

There are several dining options in close proximity to Golden Sands – Casa Rex’s a la carte restaurant less than 5 kms away is one option – there are also other hotel restaurants nearby & a couple of more casual sports & beach bars. You can always choose to buy fresh seafood from the local fishermen and prepare it for yourself!

Vilankulo serves as the gateway to the marine paradise of the Bazaruto Archipelago. The clear blue waters play host to a myriad of ocean life and there is a wide variety of water sports available including scuba diving at one of the top spots in the world, snorkeling and deep sea fishing. The well-loved traditional dhow trips around the islands leave from Golden Sands. Kite surfing for the adrenalin seeker is also on offer, & kite surfing lessons can be arranged.
