The Porini Camps are situated within exclusive wildlife conservancies in Selenkay, Laikipia and the Mara. Each of our Porini Camps offers an intimate safari experience away from the crowds of tourists in minibuses

Porini Mara Camp is a non-seasonal safari camp set in Ol Kinyei Conservancy – an 18700 acre wilderness set aside as a wildlife sanctuary with a wide variety of species including big cats. The area has open plains, forests, rivers and stunning views.

This setting provides the ultimate African safari holiday adventure in an unspoilt area, away from the crowds.

Safari game drives can also be taken in the nearby Maasai Mara National Reserve and the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy.

The award-winning Porini Mara Camp is located in a unique and beautiful setting under yellow-barked Acacia trees along the banks of the Laetoli. The Mara camp contains just five spacious guest tents and one family unit. Porini Mara Camp has an exclusive yet friendly feel, with each tent containing comfortable furnishings and ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet). The camp Chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare high quality meals and even home-baked bread. Porini Mara Camp is fully-inclusive of meals, drinks (vodka, gin & tonics, wine, beer, sodas and mineral water) and all activities (including day and night game drives, sundowners and escorted walks). There is also the opportunity to book a Hot Air Balloon Safari. Game drives (shared) are in 4×4 safari vehicles with expert safari guides and you will experience the wilderness without the presence of other tourist vehicles.

The unit is made of high quality canvas, is spacious, each wing measuring 64 square metres and the lounge is 16 square metres. It consists of two rooms with a lounge in between. Each of the two rooms has a king size bed and a single bed, The high-quality, spacious tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-powered lighting, ensuite facilities (with hot shower and flush toilet) and a private veranda. This exclusive game-rich 18700 acre wildlife conservancy has a diverse terrain of plains, forests and rivers, and is home to a broad range of species including the big cats. Guests will also have access to the Mara Reserve and the adjacent 50000 acre Naboisho conservancy.

Porini Bush Camp has 8 guest tents and offers a personal and authentic experience for a safari in the Maasai Mara, providing a great alternative to the large mass-market tourist lodges.

The camp provides guests with the opportunity to stay at a truly eco-friendly bush camp where there are no permanent structures and there is minimal impact on the environment. When the camp is taken down, the site reverts back to nature.

Limited laundry is available at no charge. Laundry is done by hand and dried outdoors, therefore turnaround time is dependent on the weather. This small and intimate safari eco- camp is located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a vast 90000-acre wildlife area between the Aberdares and the majestic Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. It is the largest sanctuary in East Africa for the endangered Black Rhino and is also a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.

Porini Rhino Camp is in a secluded valley, on the banks of a seasonal river and under the shade of acacia trees. The Kenyan safari camp in Ol Pejeta consists of just eight spacious and comfortable guest tents, each having been carefully sited to take advantage of the wonderful surrounding views.  Each tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-power lighting and ensuite hot shower and flush toilet. The camp is specially designed to have minimum environmental impact (with no permanent structures and using eco-friendly fuel). It is hosted by Jui and Nirmalya Banerjee who are avid wildlife enthusiasts themselves. The Porini Cheetah Camp is unfenced and located inside a private conservancy far from the usual safari crowds. It has just six spacious guest tents. The camp offers Wifi Internet in the public areas . The camp is entirely solar-powered and the comfortable tents have fans and charging points for use in the day. Also ensuite bathrooms with hot shower, flush toilet and water on tap. The chef uses fresh ingredients to prepare high quality meals and even home-baked bread. Indian cuisine is available on request.

Rhino River Camp is situated in 60 acres of privately owned wilderness right on the edge of the Meru National Park and it is an excellent base from where to explore Meru National Park, with opportunities to see all of Africa’s “Big Five”.

The camp is made up of two forest tents and five riverside suites built from caramel canvas and hardwood and is set on raised wooden platforms from where you can watch the gentle flow of the Kindani River. This makes your experience at Rhino River Camp truly magical.

At the camp, each room is designed with its own private “meditation” area. Here one can unwind, meditate, read a novel or simply sit back and listen to the sounds of the river. Designed in contemporary style with subtle hints of Africa, the rooms are very pleasant yet unobtrusive and elegant.

The rooms are spacious and offer beautiful views of raffia palms, yellow fever trees, and tamarinds while overlooking the river.

Meals at camp are tailored to gourmet delicacies with an Italian accent. Guests can choose to eat on the terrace of their rooms, by the pool or even in the Bush at any time – the choice is entirely yours.
