Founded in 2010 by a well-known professional guide, Camp Hwange’s location is strategic. This private concession in the central part of Hwange lies between the rugged mopane woodlands to the north and the sandy soil teak forests to the south-west; it’s location here on this open savannah ecotone means that game viewing is as diverse as its habitat types.

Aside from fantastic game viewing, especially in the drier months from April through to November, Camp Hwange offers an excellent guided experience with a strong emphasis on walking and tracking.

Upstream of the iconic Victoria Falls in the Zambezi National Park lies a pristine piece of land on the banks of the Zambezi River. Nestled within this wild paradise is Old Drift Lodge, a place frequented by elephant, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, Lion and many other animals. The untouched natural beauty of the park is sprawled over 56 000 breath taking hectares. The activities offered at Old Drift Lodge emphasise the rich natural environment, focusing on the abundance of wildlife that roam through the Park and swim the Zambezi River. The Zambezi National park can be explored by road, river or on foot, satisfying guests needs to experience every aspect of this natural utopia.

Old Drift Lodge speaks to the rich heritage of the area. A ‘drift or ‘ford’, is a shallow place in a river or stream where it is possible to cross safely without using a boat. Around 1898, the Old Drift (originally known as Sekutes Drift) was used as a crossing point over the Zambezi River between what was then Southern and Northern Rhodesia (today Zimbabwe and Zambia). The drift was at a point on the river, 7 kilometres above the Falls, where the river is wide but runs low enough during certain periods for safe crossing.

The main lodge area boast 360 degree views, north facing onto the Zambezi & south facing onto a water hole. Only 4.5 kilometres from the town of Victoria Falls, Old Drift Lodge is the closest lodge within the National Park to Victoria Falls. Luxury boats transport guests to our natural utopia where we are able to accommodate guests in 10 double suites and 4 family suites.

Old Drift Lodge offers family friendly accommodation, with each air-conditioned suite decorated with stylish furnishings, fitting of the bygone eras, which blend in seamlessly with the natural environment. Ingwe Pan is situated at a secluded pan in the wilderness area of Mana Pools National Park, just a few kilometres inland of the Zambezi River and within walking distance of the Chiruwe river bed. The pan is one of the biggest in the park and is surrounded by a grove of large ebony trees. A magnificent fig and ancient ebony form the canopy of the main lounge and dining area of the camp. An ancient baobab is a few minutes walk from the camp and the perfect spot for picnics and sundowners in the evening.

Located in Mana Pools National Park, Mana River Camp is positioned on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River nestled between this enormous perennial river and a much visited water pan, particularly enjoyed by elephants for mud bathing. Shade in the camp is provided by riverine forest predominately Trichilia Emetica and the fabled Faidherbia Albida (apple ring or Anna Tree)

The beauty of this camp is that it is a mobile tented camp known as a TEC – Temporary Extended Camp. The whole camp is taken down at the end of each season, before the wet season begins. This gives the feeling of the old, real bush, camping experience. The camp is unfenced and many different animals may be viewed from the camp, whilst enjoying the tranquil atmosphere. Common visitors into camp are elephants.

Welcome to Sable Valley, known for its sprawling grassy plains and abundance of wildlife diversity. The Dete Vlei, home to Sable Valley, provides scenic landscapes of exceptional and rare beauty, sustaining an ecosystem of remarkable habitat and species, all whilst maintains its ecological resilience and amazing natural phenomena. The Vlei is home to robust populations of some of the world most endangered large mammals such as Cheetah, Wild Dog & Leopard. The natural habitats of the nominated area are diverse, with 1070 plant species which include about 255 trees and shrubs and over 202 grasses, 470 species of bird and 100 specials of mammal. The Dete Vlei plays a pivotal role of the conservation of wildlife. This pristine concession is co-managed and protected by Forestry Commission and The Amalinda Safari Collection’s Mother Africa Trust anti poaching unit.

The style of the camp is “Less is more”. A non-pretentious camp designed to blend in with the rock and bush which occur on this slight rise above the Deteema Springs. The tents are smaller than the traditional Machaba style tent, fitting in with the surroundings of one of the most iconic parts of Hwange National Park. The tents are comfortable with all the facilities of a luxury camp, including hot and cold running water, flush toilet and decks. The main area is tented on decks overlooking the Deteema Springs, offering one an opportunity to sit and watch the African bush unfold in front of you.

With the exquisite backdrop of Lake Kariba and Matusadona National Park, Fothergill Island is a magnificent haven where travellers to this part of the Zimbabwe landscape will experience an African safari with a difference. The stunning vistas are an open invitation to embark on a journey of discovery of the continent’s second-largest lake and the amazing conservation success story of Matusadona. Take to the water on a boating safari for encounters with elephants, buffalos, hippos and ensuing predators, or dip a line in the water for exhilarating tiger fishing. Pamuzinda Safari Lodge, a top wildlife resort in Zimbabwe, lies in the midst of a 13 000 acre private game reserve approximately 1 and a half hour’s drive from Harare and the International Airport.

Thanks to its unique features, it can easily be combined with a more traditional African lodge or a tented camp.

A double story central boma area for enjoying meals; sunsets; sunrises; lake views and frequent visits from elephants. The shady communal area faces the shoreline and is a perfect spot to watch the elephant families moving around the concession; at dusk the fire pit welcomes guests until the drums call for dinner.

The recently refurbished boma area to welcome guests and to relax therein after a walk in the bush, a boat or game drive; it is also an ideal area to organise a private dinner upon request.

Seven, elevated; wooden thatched; twin bedded; open-fronted; en-suite bedroom chalets follow the shoreline. The chalets have been built like the BaTonga palafitta, (traditional stilted huts on mopane poles), for natural ventilation during the summer days and as a protection from animals, Zambezi floods and humidity.

The rooms are open fronted and the fact that the breeze blows from the lake inland, results in ‘natural ventilation’ making air-conditioning unnecessary. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy viewing wild life from theur elevated bedrooms

Hwange Bush Camp is an authentic 6 tent bush camp situated in the remote northern region of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. The Robins Area of Hwange National Park offers guests scenic diversity with huge open grass lands, natural springs and water points - and best of all, you will have the area pretty much to yourself.

Resting on the top of the low foothills in the far north west of Hwange National Park, is Daka Plains. 528 Victoria Falls is an eco- friendly boutique guesthouse, tucked away in a quiet suburb of Victoria Falls town, a mere 3 kilometres away from the Victoria Falls.

Goliath Tented Camp is owned and run by the legendary Stretch Ferreira. It operates in the Mana Pools National Park on the banks of the Zambezi River and nestled in amongst a grove of Albida and Mahogany trees.

Each of the camps 7 luxury East African tent has twin beds with teak furnishings, wardrobe and dressing table. En-suite facilities include flush toilets, hot showers and a washstand. Public areas include a covered lounge and bar, an open-air dining area and campfire seating.

There are no set routines in camp and each day is planned according to the guests’ wishes, typically beginning with an early morning walk, mid-way snacks and a rest along the river, returning to camp for a late morning full English breakfast/brunch followed by a siesta. You may head out on a game drive, canoe trip or another walk in the late afternoon. Drinks at sunset on the river edge is the perfect way to end the day before returning to camp.

The architect team of Craig Hayman and Hannah Charlton and interior designer Tracy Kelly created a haven that epitomizes “Barefoot Luxury” at its best. Mpala Jena is located on the white sandy edges of Zimbabwe’s Zambezi River and in the Zambezi National Park. The team sought to combine natural elements using thatched roofs in the main areas and flowing canvas luxury tents for the bedrooms. The sand floor in the bar area, and the adjacent swimming pool, set the scene for guests to kick their shoes off and relax after their morning safari drive or river cruise. Verney’s is a private concession area in a typically un-used part of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. It is a beautiful amphitheatre fringed by teak forest that opens up onto an impressive waterhole that is a playground to the famous elephant herds of Hwange. The camp is situated on the central side of the popular south eastern part of Hwange National Park, Verney’s Camp is a private concession of 10 000 hectares (24 710 acres).

Molori Mashuma is brand new exquisite tented camp offering unrestricted access to the untamed wilderness of Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. The camp opened its doors to the public in August 2023.

The Main Lodge 

Panoramic views of the Masuwe River form the backdrop of the main area, cleverly incorporating the unrushed rhythm of nature into the open plan design. There is an echo of the elements in the infinity pool and sunken firepit, both of which overlook the river from an expansive deck. The furniture is earthy and sophisticated, brought to life with splashes of colour. The effect is captivating yet calming and epitomizes the inherent unpredictability of Africa. The Suites

Wild Horizons represents the sharp edge of transformative, sustainable travel that demonstrates the value of protected wilderness areas. For example, guests are invited to tour The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located in the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary. The safari experience has been reimagined beyond a wilderness experience to include community, conservation and meaningful immersion. 

Kavinga Safari Camp is located in a private concession within the southern boundary of Mana Pools National Park, approximately 1 kilometre upstream of the confluence of the Ruckomechi and Chiwuye Rivers. The camp overlooks the dry Ruckomechi riverbed and is set against the extraordinary backdrop of the Zambezi Escarpment. 

Kavinga consists of just 7 comfortable raised tents built on the edge of the cliff, facing east, with a view of the rising sun above the magnificent Zambezi Valley floor. Each tent has been designed with an emphasis on privacy and is surrounded by insect repellent gauze, allowing the air to circulate and contributing to maximum coolness. Inside each tent are 2 ¾comfortable beds and an ensuite bathroom with a dressing area. In front, a verandah falls in line with the edge of the cliff giving a feeling of infinite space.

Hwange National Park has among the highest diversity of animals of any national park in the world. There are more than 100 species of mammals here, including all of the Big Five, as well as over 400 species of birds. The park boasts huge herds of buffalos, and large numbers of the unusual and distinctive black sable antelope. Other animals commonly seen here include lions, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and hyenas. But Hwange is perhaps most famous for its elephants. In fact, more than 30,000 elephants live here, making Hwange one of Africa’s most important elephant sanctuaries. The park is also home to one of the last and largest remaining populations of African painted dogs. Because there are so few packs left, and their ranges are so extensive, a sighting of these remarkable hunters is a rare and memorable occasion.

From the awesome grandeur of the Victoria Falls, it’s an easy two-hour drive, or a quick 30-minute charter flight, to the seclusion of Iganyana Tented Camp. Tucked into a teak forest, our African Luxury Tented Camp looks out over the wide, open grass plain of a long-dry riverbed. This is, in fact, a highway of sorts. However, the only traffic on it is wildlife on their daily commute between waterholes – one of which is directly in front of Iganyana Tented Camp. Natural walkways of compacted red river sand lead to the center of the camp. Here, tall rain trees shade the large Bedouin tented dining and living area. This opens onto a large, raised wooden deck with a swimming pool, overlooking the waterhole just a stone’s throw away. Below the deck is the boma with a fire pit: the hearth and heart of the luxury camp. A low, sculptural wall of twisted acacia boughs is all that separates you from the wilderness beyond.

Our 15 large luxury safari tented accommodation have been specially designed and purpose built just for Iganyana Tented Camp.
